About The Position

The Market Grille Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service; reviews and fills customer orders; handles food safely; and keeps the work area clean and neat. The role works with coworkers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Duties are normally performed in a store environment, with daily contact with customers and the general public and contact with regulatory agencies regarding inspections. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions and deal with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.
Ability to perform medium physical work, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Ability to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Visual ability from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, treating customers with care, concern, and patience.
Greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and assist with product location, hard-to-reach items, heavy items, suggestions, and other shopping needs.
Answer telephone calls promptly and help callers, including taking orders.
Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and review orders for the day.
Work with coworkers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Handle food safely, keep the work area clean and neat, and review food freshness and appearance.
Ensure an adequate food supply is ready, develop or follow a production list, anticipate product needs, and prepare or replenish products as necessary.
Pull products from the cooler or freezer for cooking; check in and put away products; and review invoices when applicable.
Operate department registers and receive payments and make change where applicable.
Remove trash in a timely manner.
Follow department and company standards for personal hygiene, dress, and other policies and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
Wash dishes, order products and supplies, price products, and deliver orders as necessary.
Assist in other store areas and perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
