About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group for the course PSYC 2P25 Personality & Individual Differences. Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The number of nominal hours assigned to a Marker-Grader may vary, and the total stipend will depend on course enrollment, consisting of 0.67 hours multiplied by the number of registered students. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement and will include marking tests and exams. Positions are subject to course enrollments and budgetary approval. Requirements

  • Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, or 5F01, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete and currently enrolled in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 80; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 80.
  • Previous successful experience as a TA in this course will be considered as equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics.
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills and a thorough understanding of APA writing style.
  • Must have excellent judgment in evaluating the quality of written assignments.
  • Must have excellent time management skills in order to complete marking assignments on time and to arrive on time for proctoring of tests and assignments.
  • Must be available for test and exam proctoring throughout the term.
  • Must be available for intensive marking during the week immediately following the final exam.
  • Members shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours (i.e., not overtime hours) allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Marking tests and exams.
  • Proctoring of tests and assignments.
  • Intensive marking during the week immediately following the final exam.
