About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for PSYC 3P39, Computer Data Analysis (2 sections) for the Fall D2-1 term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation varies based on the highest degree completed, ranging from $19.00/hour for first-year undergraduate completion to $36.00/hour for a Master's degree completion (rates effective September 1, 2026). The total stipend is determined by course enrollment, calculated as 3 hours multiplied by the number of registered students. Duties include marking essays and assignments, maintaining accurate records, assisting students with course material difficulties, and other related tasks assigned by the Instructor, in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The position requires remote grading and communication with the instructor, TAs, and students via email and video conferencing. Requirements

  • Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 80; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 80. Previous successful experience as a TA in this course in an academic setting will be considered as equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills and a thorough understanding of APA writing style
  • Must have the interpersonal qualities to be supportive of students
  • Must have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to keep accurate records/manage data
  • Must have excellent time management skills in order to grade the required course material during the available time frame
  • Must be adept at providing feedback to students in a constructive manner
  • Must have a strong background and understanding of statistics
  • Must have a clear understanding of the application of Excel and SPSS software to psychological problems
  • Must be able and willing to grade material remotely
  • Must be able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and audio-video conferencing
