About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the CHYS 3P11 Winter D3 - Theories of Development and Socialization Instructor course. This position is paid according to the employee's qualifications, with rates varying based on degree completion (Master's, Undergraduate, Third Year, Second Year, or First Year Complete). The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. The marker-grader may also be asked to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases. Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 3P11 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P11 will be considered as equivalent.
  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
