About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the CHYS 3P43 Winter D3 - Behaviour Change During Childhood and Youth course, instructed by Matt Kwan. Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The compensation structure includes different hourly rates for individuals with a Master's Degree Complete, Undergraduate Degree Complete, Third Year Complete, Second Year Complete, and First Year Complete. The Collective Agreement governs part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator, and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 3P43 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader for CHYS 3P43 will be considered as equivalent.
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
