About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader position in the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group for the course PSYC 2P01, Roadmap to Careers in Psychology. The contract period is from September 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. The number of nominal hours assigned to a Marker-Grader may vary, and the total stipend will depend on course enrollment, consisting of 1 hour multiplied by the number of registered students. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The marker for this contract will grade two assignments: the write-rewrite assignment for resume-cover letters and the write-rewrite assignment for the LinkedIn profile.

Requirements

  • Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, or 5F01, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete and currently enrolled in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 85; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 80.
  • Demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to keep accurate records/manage data.
  • Excellent time management skills in order to mark student work within a constrained turn-around time.
  • Strong writing and editing skills and a thorough understanding of APA writing style.
  • Adept at providing feedback to students in a constructive manner.
  • Able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, fellow teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and audio-video conferencing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a TA or Marker-grader in this course in an academic setting will be considered as equivalent.

Responsibilities
