About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for Marker-Grader positions within the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) NUTRITION IN HEALTH CARE. Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds, with rates effective September 1, 2026. The role involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams, and providing written feedback to students. Additionally, the marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations or enter grades into databases at the request of the course instructor. Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or related discipline.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Available to provide feedback in person and, when required, online.
  • Proficiency with online delivery tools (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams, Brightspace), computer spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and electronic audience response systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
  • Completion of this course within the last three years is an asset.
  • Experience or training with online synchronous and asynchronous course support.
  • Brock fourth year (honours) students in Health Sciences or related discipline will be considered if vacancies remain.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
