About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for Marker-Grader positions within the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) INTEGRATED CARDIOVASCULAR PHARMACOLOGY. Compensation for these positions is based on the qualifications of the employee, with different hourly rates effective September 1, 2026, for those holding a Master’s Degree Complete ($36.00/hour), Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04/hour), Third Year Complete ($22.91/hour), Second Year Complete ($20.15/hour), and First Year Complete ($19.00/hour). The Collective Agreement governs part-time Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Lab Demonstrator, Course Coordinator and Marker-Grader positions at Brock University.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or related discipline.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Available to provide feedback in person and, when required, online.

Nice To Haves

  • Brock fourth year (honours) students in Health Sciences or related discipline will be considered if vacancies remain.
  • Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.
  • Completion of this course within the last three years is an asset.
  • Experience or training with online synchronous and asynchronous course support.
  • Proficiency with online delivery tools (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams, Brightspace), computer spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and electronic audience response systems.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
  • Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, whether due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
  • Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
  • Provide feedback in person and, when required, online.
