About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Marker-Grader for the ECON 2P29 Winter D3 course. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The marker-grader is responsible for evaluating student work and providing constructive written feedback. Duties may also include invigilating mid-terms and examinations, and entering grades into databases as requested by the course instructor. Requirements

Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
Graduate of, or Major in, Economics with a minimum major average of 75%.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students.
Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours.
Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
Must indicate their seniority date within the application questionnaire if they are a member with seniority.
Must clearly indicate in their cover letter which scheduled times they are NOT available for.

Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.
Provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, including substantive content, written communications, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization.
Invigilate mid-terms and examinations for the course, at the request of the course instructor.
Enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
