About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Marker-Grader in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the CHYS 2F15 Fall/Winter D1 - Principles of Service-Learning in Child and Youth Studies course. The position involves marking assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams. The marker-grader is expected to provide written feedback to students that clearly identifies the basis of the grade assigned, whether due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission. The marker-grader may also be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor. Availability to meet with the Instructor as necessary, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
  • Must have previously completed CHYS 2F15 or equivalent and obtained 80% or higher.
  • Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Applications must include a cover letter and a current resume.
  • Members with seniority can provide seniority date within the application questionnaire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a Marker/Grader or Teaching Assistant for CHYS 2F15 will be considered as equivalent.
  • Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.

Responsibilities

  • Mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams.

Benefits

  • Compensation based on qualifications (Master’s Degree Complete: $36.00/hour, Undergraduate Degree Complete: $31.04/hour, Third Year Complete: $22.91/hour, Second Year Complete: $20.15/hour, First Year Complete: $19.00/hour).
