About The Position

Boater’s World Marine Centers is seeking a motivated, hands-on Marine Service Support Technician to support operations in the Service Department at BWGP. This role is the operational backbone of the service team, working alongside Marine Technicians to assist with engine handling, rigging preparation, forklift operations, boat staging, and yard organization. It is neither an entry-level yard position nor a certified technician role.

The position contributes directly to technician productivity, service turnaround time, and department performance. It involves handling valuable equipment, engines, and vessels, and maintaining daily operational pace in a physical, team-driven environment. The technician is expected to demonstrate awareness, reliability, and pride in their work.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 4–5 years.
• Comfortable working outdoors in Texas conditions.
• Ability to safely handle heavy components and equipment.
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset.
• Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating forklifts or similar heavy equipment.
• Previous experience in marine, automotive, mechanical, or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and yard equipment to move boats and trailers throughout the dealership.
• Safely operate company vehicles to tow boats to and from waterways, customers’ homes, sublet facilities, and other locations.
• Assist with engine repowers, maintenance, and services.
• Support rigging preparation and installation.
• Stage boats for service, diagnostics, delivery, and customer pickup.
• Prepare service bays so technicians have the tools and setup needed to work efficiently.
• Maintain yard organization, equipment readiness, and workflow efficiency.
• Assist with boat detailing and final preparation when needed.
• Support heavy-lift tasks and shop coordination during peak service periods.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
• Use Lightspeed Mobile when performing service-related tasks.
