About The Position

The Marine Service Technician performs service and warranty repairs on boats, motors, trailers, and ATVs in a timely and efficient manner according to manufacturer specifications. The role diagnoses and resolves mechanical and electrical problems, installs accessories, provides technical guidance to customers, and may perform rigging. Technicians also water-test products with customers to confirm completed work and explain product operation, while maintaining a clean and professional work area. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and opportunities to recommend improvements to procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
Ability to communicate professionally with customers and associates.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, associates, and customers.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
Ability to provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

Higher-level technical certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical problems on boats, motors, trailers, and ATVs.
Install accessory items.
Advise customers on technical questions and provide recommendations to support customer satisfaction.
Water-test units with customers to verify work performed and explain product operation.
Perform rigging as required.
Maintain a clean and professional work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
