About The Position

Glosten is seeking junior or entry-level marine mechanical engineers to join our marine engineering group. Glosten is a naval architecture and marine engineering firm with over 60 years of experience. We work in teams on unique and challenging marine projects in a stimulating, fast-paced, and collegial environment. Requirements

Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and power train principles.
General knowledge of shipboard systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino3D, or equivalent CAD program.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages.
Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States. Due to project restrictions, Glosten will only consider applicants with unrestricted access to work in the United States or those eligible for TN visas.
Some travel and fieldwork are required.
Some project assignments may require a valid driver's license, current passport, and/or TWIC card.

Nice To Haves

Coursework or other experience with marine systems, piping system design, and/or vessel operations is a plus.
Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design propulsion drivetrains, supporting auxiliary systems, life support, and safety systems for all manner of vessels.
Develop full 3D machinery plant designs inside virtual ships using advances in modeling methods and reality capture.
Integrate mechanical systems with modern control and automation systems.
Contribute to the development of marine vessels, focusing on emissions reductions and efficiency improvements.
