About The Position

Glosten is seeking junior or entry-level marine mechanical engineers to join our marine engineering group. Glosten is a naval architecture and marine engineering firm with over 60 years of experience, working on unique and challenging marine projects in a collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced environment. As a marine mechanical engineer, you will design propulsion drivetrains, supporting auxiliary systems, life support, and safety systems for various vessels, utilizing advanced modeling methods for 3D machinery plant designs. You will contribute to the development of next-generation ships, focusing on emissions reductions and efficiency improvements, and integrating mechanical systems with modern control and automation systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and power train principles.
  • General knowledge of shipboard systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino3D, or equivalent CAD program.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States or eligible for TN visas.
  • Some travel and fieldwork are required.
  • May require a valid driver's license, current passport, and/or TWIC card for project assignments.

  • Coursework or experience with marine systems.
  • Coursework or experience with piping system design.
  • Coursework or experience with vessel operations.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification.

Responsibilities
