Manager, Technology Operations & Enablement

TA Realty•Boston, MA
•$160,000 - $200,000

About The Position

TA Realty is an SEC-registered alternative asset manager focused on commercial real estate. Its intentionally small technology team combines trusted partners with AI to provide reliable services while meeting investor security expectations. This leadership role remains close to technical work. The manager governs managed service providers (MSPs) and vendors responsible for day-to-day operations, leads engineers partnering with investment, finance, and operations teams, and stays hands-on in the tools to set technical standards. The manager owns operations governance, technology spend and licensing, architecture and security standards, team development, embedded engineering, and AI enablement and governance. The role supports audit readiness for SEC and Reg S-P obligations and SOC 2- and ISO 27001-aligned practices. Within the first year, the manager is expected to establish defined service levels for MSPs and vendors, guide each engineer through an embedded engagement that improves a workflow, personally deliver an automation, integration, or agent the team relies on, move Copilot and agents into adopted and governed workflows, and maintain audit readiness with regular identity and access reviews.

  • Current hands-on command of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and scripting, including something built or fixed in this stack within the last year.
  • A record of governing MSPs and vendors to defined outcomes, including spend, incidents, and audit readiness.
  • A record of developing engineers, ideally from support or operations backgrounds, into higher-leverage roles.

Responsibilities

  • Set service expectations and govern MSP and vendor performance against defined service levels.
  • Lead major incidents, root-cause reviews, and disaster recovery testing with MSPs and vendors.

  • Set standards for integrations, identity, and platforms, and reject solutions that do not meet those standards.
  • Maintain audit-ready controls in support of SEC and Reg S-P obligations and SOC 2- and ISO 27001-aligned practices.
  • Develop operations and solutions engineers into embedded builders focused on business outcomes; assign business domains, set goals, and provide feedback.
  • Direct engineers’ embedded work with business teams, from learning processes through delivering and supporting adoption of outcomes.
  • Build, review, and troubleshoot alongside engineers, set technical standards by example, and turn team learnings into reusable patterns.
  • Lead adoption of Copilot and other agent platforms, manage agent identity and lifecycle, establish Power Platform guardrails, and measure delivered value.
