About The Position

L3Harris is hiring a Systems Engineering Manager to lead its Systems Engineering team. The position involves systems engineering for multiple systems and leading technical personnel. The ideal candidate has experience designing and testing complex systems and knowledge of D5 missile, SSP culture, and the Trident Flight Test program. The role requires travel up to 25%.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of prior experience, or graduate degree with 7 years of prior experience; in lieu of a degree, at least 13 years of prior related experience.
Active U.S. Secret security clearance and eligibility for Top Secret clearance.
At least 5 years of direct experience working with at least two of the following technologies: underwater acoustics, telemetry, communications, optics, and radar.
At least 5 years of experience leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
Ability to travel 25%.

Knowledge of SSP Systems Engineering processes and procedures.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with DOORS requirements management software.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead for the Systems Engineering team.
Lead, direct, and review direct reports’ work to accomplish near-term operational plans and results.
Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and compensation decisions.
Communicate systems engineering policies and practices within and outside the function to explain them and gain cooperation.
Mentor less experienced Systems Engineers.
Perform systems engineering duties for multiple systems simultaneously.
Work with SSP SPALT, PAD, Coordination Drawing, and Ordnance Document processes.
Work on SSP Flight Instrumentation Systems, including radar, telemetry, and communications systems.
Contribute to and present during customer design reviews.
Contribute to proposal activities.
Travel up to 25%.
