Manager, Strategic Enablement

NBCUniversal•Universal City, CA
•$105,000 - $130,000

About The Position

The Manager, Strategic Enablement is part of NBCUniversal’s Platform Distribution & Partnerships (PD&P) Partner Operations team. The role leads cross-functional projects and programs that turn distribution deals, strategic initiatives, deal terms, partner commitments, and business requirements into clear execution plans. It also owns and continuously improves the department’s portfolio tools and workflows in Smartsheet and JIRA, providing visibility into priorities, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and delivery health. The role is expected to drive collaboration and help teams find solutions and deliver outcomes—not simply collect updates. The Manager partners across business and technical functions to connect commercial commitments with product, technology, operational readiness, and commercialization work. The role establishes portfolio operating rhythms, produces executive-ready reporting and decision materials, surfaces delivery risks and process gaps, and builds scalable tools, templates, and frameworks that improve consistency and reduce duplicative work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, program or project management, media, technology, operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in program management, project management, business operations, strategic enablement, transformation, media distribution, digital products, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives with evolving requirements and senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience building, administering, and improving portfolio solutions with project management and data visualization tools.
  • Strong command of project and portfolio management practices, including intake, prioritization, planning, dependency management, risk and issue management, change control, governance, and executive reporting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex information for leadership and delivery teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across business, legal, product, technology, operations, and partner-facing organizations.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including Copilot.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, or Smartsheet certification.
  • Knowledge of media and entertainment distribution, streaming, TVE, dMVPD, FAST, SVOD, advertising, measurement, or digital product operations.
  • Ability to connect commercial intent to practical product, technology, and operational execution.
  • Proactive approach to improving portfolio tools and processes rather than simply maintaining them.
  • Clear, concise communication across executive narratives and detailed project artifacts.
  • Collaborative leadership that creates accountability, transparency, and alignment without unnecessary process burden.
  • Comfort challenging unclear assumptions, surfacing trade-offs, and guiding teams toward decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in complexity.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to create structure and momentum in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple cross-functional programs and projects from intake and requirements definition through execution, launch, transition, and closeout.
  • Translate distribution deal terms, partner requests, business decisions, and structured requirements into project plans, milestones, dependencies, risk plans, and execution handoffs.
  • Own and administer the Strategic Enablement portfolio environment in Smartsheet and JIRA, including intake workflows, project structures, dashboards, reporting views, templates, status fields, permissions, and data standards.
  • Design and improve workflows that connect deal-cycle inputs to execution, including requirements capture, prioritization, change control, escalation, status reporting, and closure criteria.
  • Partner with Business Development, Legal, Product, Technology, Partner Operations, Distribution Solutions, Data, Advertising, Finance, and other stakeholders to align requirements, ownership, timing, and delivery expectations.
  • Create integrated project plans and roadmaps connecting contractual commitments, product and technology delivery, operational readiness, partner dependencies, and commercialization activities.
  • Run portfolio operating rhythms, including intake reviews, project health reviews, cross-functional status meetings, leadership updates, and decision forums; prepare agendas, facilitate discussions, document decisions, and drive follow-through.
  • Maintain portfolio-level visibility across active initiatives, including milestones, risks, blockers, resource constraints, decision needs, and upcoming commitments.
  • Produce executive-ready dashboards, portfolio summaries, steering committee materials, project updates, and decision documents.
  • Identify delivery risks and process gaps early, facilitate mitigation plans, and escalate decisions with clear options, impacts, and recommendations.
  • Build scalable templates, playbooks, standard operating procedures, and reusable program frameworks to improve consistency across deals and reduce manual or duplicative work.
  • Support department priorities such as portfolio planning, operating-model improvements, tool adoption, process transformation, and special projects.
