About The Position

Orchid Group is hiring its first leader of quality engineering across its family of software companies. The role will establish shared quality standards, tooling, automation, and metrics across products that support assisted-reproduction services and the federal Independent Dispute Resolution process. The software handles client funds, payment data, and sensitive personal information, so quality is treated as essential to protecting users and their trust. The manager will begin by assessing each product's existing testing practices and establishing a baseline and prioritized improvement plan. They will build shared API and UI test automation, first proving it on one product and then extending it across the group. They will define QA practices and release-readiness criteria, provide QA input on releases while engineering leads retain final go/no-go authority, and regularly report clearly defined quality metrics. The role also involves applying AI-assisted tools responsibly, ensuring that people review AI output and that new tools receive architecture review. Tools must not access production client, payment, or health data without approval. The manager will develop QA engineers through goals, feedback, reviews, and individual development plans, and partner with the CTO and HR on hiring. The position is fully remote and US-based, with the team distributed across the US and Latin America and working on Eastern Time.
