About The Position

The Manager, Operations oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the transportation and logistics department. The role works with internal departments and external partners and suppliers to ensure efficient and effective transportation and logistics processes. It develops strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability; monitors performance and compliance; and provides activity reports to management. The position is based in Fort Worth, Texas, in the Burleson area, within DSV’s Solutions division.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent English, orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Experience in the freight forwarding industry.
• Certification in transportation and logistics, such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP).
• Experience with transportation management software (TMS).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the transportation and logistics department’s daily operations to ensure processes run smoothly and efficiently.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including sales and customer service, to meet customer needs.
• Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services.
• Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations.
