About The Position

The Manager on Duty oversees daily operations at the Sachs Recreation Center when full-time managers are not on-site. The role supervises staff, helps ensure facility and program operations run smoothly, and provides excellent customer service to members and guests. The Manager on Duty must be able to open and close the facility independently.

The Sachs Recreation Center is a 100,000-square-foot facility offering fitness, wellness, and sports activities for all ages. Amenities include a full-service fitness center, lap pool, gymnasiums, tennis and racquetball courts, and specialized studios.

This is a part-time position with shifts available Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00–9:00 PM. Pay is $20.00–$22.00 per hour, starting at $20.00. Perks include a free fitness center membership and seasonal pool pass.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills.
• CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain certification.
• Genuine interest in working with people of all ages in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the front desk, fitness floor, and daily facility schedule.
• Supervise and support part-time staff, and report performance issues as needed.
• Respond promptly to member and guest inquiries, concerns, and requests.
• Handle cash and credit transactions and process daily deposits.
• Secure the facility, set alarms, and follow closing procedures.
• Conduct tours, process memberships, and promote the recreation center.
• Maintain a clean, professional front desk and facility environment.
• Ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Perform general administrative duties as needed.
• Open and close the facility independently.
