About The Position

The Manager on Duty (MOD) is the on-site leader responsible for overseeing daily operations on both the pool deck and front desk during assigned shifts. The role ensures Goldfish Swim School standards are consistently upheld in safety, customer experience, staffing, sales, and curriculum delivery. The MOD serves as the primary decision-maker and escalation point during their shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications within 90 days of hire; certification classes are provided at the facility.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a swim instructor, deck supervisor, or front desk leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead during assigned shifts and oversee pool and front desk operations.
• Ensure compliance with Goldfish Swim School safety, operational, and customer service standards.
• Support and coach swim instructors, deck supervisors, and front desk staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing, rotations, and lesson flow on the pool deck.
• Maintain working knowledge of pool chemistry, pump room operations, and emergency procedures.
• Handle parent and guardian questions, concerns, and escalations.
• Oversee front desk operations, including scheduling, billing questions, and customer interactions.
• Reinforce sales and service expectations and support enrollment efforts.
• Complete shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
