Manager, Marketing Operations

Purpose UnlimitedToronto, ON
$115,000 - $130,000Hybrid

About The Position

As Manager, Marketing Operations, you are the operational backbone of the marketing function – the person who turns strategy into systems, campaigns into measurable outcomes, and scattered workflows into a machine that scales. You work directly with the CMO to build the processes, tooling, and reporting architecture that make ambitious marketing possible. You work at the intersection of campaign execution and AI-powered workflow design – using intelligent automation to eliminate the operational friction that slows teams down, so the marketing function can move faster without sacrificing precision or brand integrity. This role embodies our value of Innovation – rethinking what a high-performance marketing operation looks like at Purpose Unlimited. You're the person who looks at a marketing calendar and immediately sees the bottlenecks. You've spent your career building the systems and processes that make creative teams faster, campaigns more consistent, and data actually actionable. You find it quietly satisfying when the machine runs well and quietly intolerable when it doesn't. You don't treat AI as a shortcut. You treat it as infrastructure – a way to automate the operational repetition so your energy goes toward the coordination, judgment, and problem-solving that actually require you. You don't need oversight to stay on top of things. You are, by nature, the person keeping track of everything, and you want an organization ambitious enough to give you something worth building.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years in marketing operations, campaign management, or a related function – ideally within financial services, fintech, or professional services
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving campaign workflow and project management systems that operate at scale and across multiple stakeholders
  • Hands-on proficiency with marketing automation, CRM, and project management platforms – you've administered these tools, not just used them
  • The analytical sharpness to interpret performance data, identify what it actually means, and translate it into operational or strategic recommendations
  • Real fluency with AI productivity tools – not familiarity, fluency. You've designed workflows with AI in them, you know where it helps and where it breaks, and you govern its outputs with judgment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience owning or rationalizing a MarTech stack – evaluating vendors, managing integrations, and aligning tooling decisions to business strategy
  • Background in a regulated industry where operational precision and compliance requirements shaped how campaigns were built and tracked
  • Experience building attribution models or working closely with a revenue or finance team to connect marketing activity to pipeline and growth metrics
  • Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor reporting directly to executive leadership – you've carried significant ownership without layers of management beneath you
  • An instinct for where AI automation creates real leverage versus where it introduces risk – and the experience to tell the difference

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a campaign operations framework that takes briefs from intake to launch with consistency, speed, and zero dropped handoffs – with throughput benchmarks set in your first 30 days.
  • Design and deploy AI-augmented workflow automation that measurably reduces time-to-launch across campaign types within the first two quarters.
  • Own the marketing performance reporting infrastructure – ensuring leadership has clean, attributable data on campaign outcomes, pipeline contribution, and channel efficiency at all times.
  • Audit, rationalize, and optimize the MarTech stack – eliminating redundancy, improving integration, and ensuring the tooling serves the strategy, not the other way around.
  • Establish marketing operations as a strategic function – not just a support function – with documented processes, clear SLAs, and visibility that earns the trust of the CMO and cross-functional partners.
