About The Position

Responsible for facilitating the technical development of processes, products and methods within the site as well as helping to coordinate with divisional customers and manufacturing for new product development, product transfers, and product and process enhancements. Oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products. Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Ensures execution of strategic goals provided by site management. Supports management functions, such as providing guidance/input on resource allocation, priority setting, reviews, schedules, & budget for the manufacturing engineering department. Trains, motivates and guides employees. Executes quality and yield improvements. Investigation of root cause and implementation of corrective action. Facilitates cost reduction activities and redesign for cost saving. Supports development of manufacturing policies, procedures and metrics. Provides review, assesses impact, and communicates feedback for potential change orders. Organizes daily production support, including tooling and fixturing problems, training of personnel etc. Is able to fulfill manufacturing engineering responsibilities, as required, for a variety of product lines. Acts as an active Leader in Daily Pulse Meetings. Is involved with Corrective and Preventive Action teams. Helps the plant continue the evolution of ongoing improvement initiatives and assists in acting on potential opportunities. Participates in and drives Lean initiatives. Drive successful kaizens as needed. Must be strong in execution. Promotes and facilitates diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the plant operations, and provide counsel on appropriate lean tools to eliminate them. Generate and present key business metrics and situations. Supports mitigation activities to resolve performance issues with critical site KPIs. Provides budgeting and tracking information of the engineering department to site leadership. Supports forecasting manpower and equipment capacity and utilizations. Educates, trains, and maintains proper transactional requirements in Oracle ERP.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, BioMedical Engineering, or other Engineering discipline. Experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related role may offset the educational requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience or equivalent, preferably in the medical device field or other regulated industry.
  • 1-2 years management experience in an engineering or operations role preferred

  • MS in Engineering or MBA preferred.
