About The Position

The Manager in Training (MIT) program is designed for candidates who are open to relocation for training and subsequent placement. The Assistant Operations Manager role involves assisting in the coordination and direction of operations to fulfill contractual obligations between SBM and its customers. This includes responsibilities in planning, supervision, budgeting, vendor and supply management, and customer relations.

Requirements

  • A.A. Degree required in Business Management, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • Customer service, problem solving, time management, project management, planning, excellent communication, presentation, interviewing, coaching, and training skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Computer Skills.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and general public.
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing work schedules to ensure adequate service.
  • Prepare schedules for service personnel and assign personnel to routes.
  • Assist with inspection and evaluation of establishments for program compliance, including safety, quality, and service.
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Investigate and promote improved equipment and methods.
  • Review customer requests for service to ascertain the cause and type of malfunction, and address with the manager.
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of policies and goals.
  • Inspect plant and evaluate the use of space and facilities.
  • Assist with plans, budgets, and schedule modifications, including cost estimates, bid sheets, and contracts.
  • Participate in the development of long-range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements for program/process improvements.
  • Assist with the coordination of program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and employees.
  • Assist with compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as FLSA, OSHA, ADA, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between the company, customers, clients, employees, and subcontractors.
  • Review correspondence concerning contractors and respond appropriately.
  • Establish and maintain contact with contractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract process.
  • Conduct and attend meetings to communicate top-down and bottom-up on a consistent real-time basis with customers, clients, and employees.
  • Assist with human resource concerns and issues.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
