About The Position

The Manager In Training (MIT) is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all sales, accounting, service, and collection activities at the single-store level. This role involves delegating tasks to trained employees, controlling in-store programs to meet company objectives and sales quotas, and organizing continuous training for all store employees. This position offers great pay and full benefits.

Requirements

  • Must understand that opportunity rarely comes in their existing store or city.
  • Willingness to relocate when called upon, primarily to western states like Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
  • Agreement to relocate when called upon.
  • If MIT chooses not to relocate to a store that management offers, they will be removed from the program and return to their regular position in the store if available.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as assistant manager, general manager, store manager, auto dealership, automotive retail, auto sales, retail management, or retail manager is very helpful but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all sales, accounting, service, and collection activities at the single-store level.
  • Delegate tasks to trained employees.
  • Control in-store programs and plans to meet company objectives and assigned store quotas.
  • Organize and conduct a planned program of continuous training for all store employees.
  • Cross-train in each department: Sales, Accounts, and Shop.
  • Promote and push sales.
  • Become proficient in the policies, processes, and workings of each department.
  • Learn manager duties including proper file completion, inventory management, protection claims filing and tracking, payroll logging, conducting Friday morning meetings, placing orders, contacting operations for fixes, and understanding corporate office forms (PAF, etc.) and monthly P&Ls.
  • Shadow sales and account specialists, and the home office.
  • Spend time shadowing sales directors, account directors, the home office, and the marketing/internet sales department.
  • Learn the basics of driving sales with outbound lead calls, Gorilla marketing using flyers, goal setting and tracking, creating excitement in the store, difficult account collection processes, home office procedures, and understanding marketing, internet sales, and pipeline.
