About The Position

Chewy is hiring a Manager, HR Business Partner at its Clayton, Indiana fulfillment center. The position oversees and manages the fulfillment center Human Resources department, leading HR initiatives in a growing organization and supporting a workplace that prioritizes employee engagement and values team members.

Requirements

• Five or more years in an HR partnership role, ideally in a fulfillment or distribution center or another busy work environment, with a proven track record of success.
• Two to three years of experience managing an HR team.
• A proven record of strategic partnerships that enhance the HR experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, public presentation, and communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
• Strong employee relations background.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in a similar warehouse environment, or a combination of education, training, and experience, will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for performance management, employee engagement, and talent development.
• Assist management staff in resolving issues and concerns.
• Provide training assistance as needed and own orientation and onboarding.
• Facilitate compensation programs, research local market data, and evaluate job levels to keep compensation programs competitive.
• Administer the workers’ compensation program, investigate injuries, first-aid incidents, and near misses, and work with plant management to reduce them.
• Recommend and administer discipline when warranted, and assist supervisors and fulfillment center management with disciplinary issues.
• Handle benefits administration.
• Develop and update job descriptions, rules, procedures, and policies.
• Participate in facility safety activities and meetings, including safety committee meetings and accident investigations.
