About The Position

Genetec is a global leader in physical security, but our commitment to safety starts at home. We are looking for a visionary Manager of Global Security and Safety to lead our internal efforts in protecting our most valuable assets: our people and our global facilities. In this role, you will lead Genetec’s global physical security and safety program, with accountability for both strategy and execution. You will work closely with executive leadership and internal partners to design and implement a risk‑based security program aligned with Genetec’s scale and growth aspirations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of operational experience in global security planning or operations, with significant multi-site or international exposure.
  • Proven track record in a corporate security leadership position, with hands-on experience managing diverse teams and large-scale vendor programs.
  • Possess a deep working knowledge of physical security risk assessment methodologies and best practices in corporate safety.
  • A master at interpersonal communication, able to influence stakeholders and lead with calm authority during crises.
  • Ready and able to travel internationally as required to support our global footprint.
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building a global security program from the ground up within a fast-scaling tech company
  • A background in law enforcement, military, or specialized corporate security consulting.
  • Professional certifications such as ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP)

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve a world-class global physical security and life safety program that identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks across all Genetec facilities and assets worldwide
  • Establish and maintain policies, standards, and playbooks for site security, access control, visitor management, investigations, and emergency response
  • Define and execute the strategy for executive/VIP protection, international travel security, and event security tailored to Genetec’s unique culture and high-profile events
  • Lead the response for physical security events, overseeing investigations, after-action reviews, and the implementation of corrective actions
  • Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity, Facilities, HR, and Legal to strengthen Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Disaster Recovery readiness
  • Manage a global team of security professionals, providing coaching and performance management. Oversee security vendor relationships, ensuring high-performance SLAs and continuous service improvements
  • Drive the selection and lifecycle management of physical security technologies. As a leader at Genetec, you will prioritize "dogfooding", leveraging our own best-in-class security products to protect our global operations
  • Define and track program KPIs, reporting security posture and outcomes directly to leadership
