About The Position

General Gritts is a year-round neighborhood market, deli, liquor store, grab-and-go stop, and lunch destination located in the heart of Snowbird. It offers made-to-order sandwiches, a distinctive grocery selection, and products for skiers, riders, lodging guests, and local residents. The Manager leads all aspects of this multi-faceted retail operation, overseeing grocery, deli, liquor, and retail sales while providing an excellent experience for guests and locals. This hands-on leadership role manages a diverse team, drives sales performance, maintains high operational standards, and keeps a fast-paced business running smoothly.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in retail, grocery, or food service management.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, and scheduling.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment, including meat slicers and other appliances.
• Familiarity with or ability to learn YellowDog, Coupa, Square, Mashgin, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to manage sensitive guest information in compliance with company policies.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of up to 20 employees, including cashiers and deli staff.
• Hire, train, schedule, and coach team members to deliver excellent service.
• Oversee store operations, including inventory, ordering, merchandising, and cleanliness across all departments.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized environment for guests and employees.
• Monitor and manage labor, food, and supply costs to meet budget goals.
• Conduct and support regular inventory counts and ordering processes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol handling, and company policies.
• Work floor shifts regularly, balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on customer service.
• Collaborate with other managers to optimize product mix, promotions, and guest experience.
• Uphold Snowbird’s standards for professionalism, appearance, and guest interaction.
