About The Position

The Manager Alterations & Tailoring leads the tailor shop and is responsible for developing employees and delivering outstanding customer service. The role ensures alterations and tailoring are completed according to Nordstrom guidelines and service and quality standards, and that department work is organized and finished by the date promised. The manager also oversees shop procedures, proper fit education, and office and labor expenses.

Requirements

• Previous experience in alterations or tailoring.
• Understanding of the safe and proper use of all equipment in the shop.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and customers.
• High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach, coach, and develop employees to provide outstanding customer service.
• Identify, recruit, and hire talent.
• Coach employees to complete alterations and tailoring according to Nordstrom guidelines and service and quality standards.
• Organize department workload and ensure items are completed by the promised date.
• Educate employees on proper fit, shop procedures, and guidelines in a professional and friendly manner.
• Manage office and labor expenses.
