About The Position

The Management Trainee participates in an intensive 16-week Operations Management Trainee Program designed to prepare the trainee for an initial leadership or supervisory role in operations. Under the direction of a mentor, the trainee learns transportation industry principles, efficient cross-dock operations, leadership communication, and relationship building. Completion of the program requires relocation to another facility for the trainee’s first leadership role in Operations.

The trainee completes guided and independent study, works with Support Center and Service Center associates on daily training activities, observes an Account Manager during customer sales calls, and occasionally accompanies drivers on local delivery routes to learn about freight delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Logistics, or at least two years of related work experience.
• Acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards.
• Flexibility and readiness to relocate as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Basic computer skills.
• Very strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Complete the leadership training program through guided and independent study.
• Interface daily with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates to complete aspects of the training program.
• Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
• Occasionally accompany drivers on local delivery routes to understand the freight delivery process.
• Relocate to another facility upon completion of the trainee program for the first leadership role in Operations.
