About The Position

The Make Ready Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure that vacant apartment units are restored promptly to market-ready status. The role also performs general repairs and assists with maintenance of the property's interior and exterior. The technician demonstrates a strong commitment to serving internal and external customers and represents the company professionally and courteously.

The position performs repairs, replacements, upkeep, preventive maintenance, and safety-related tasks across the property. It requires regular manual, task-oriented work under direct supervision and compliance with applicable safety requirements, codes, and company policies. The schedule is Monday through Friday but may vary with business needs; some overtime and extended hours may be required.

Requirements

• General maintenance and safety experience.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge required to perform job functions.
• Ability to regularly perform manual, task-oriented work under direct supervision.
• Provide own industry-specific hand tools.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use industry-specific technology to ensure repairs and replacements are completed promptly and vacant units meet company move-in-ready standards.
• Perform repairs, replacements, and upkeep related to exterior grounds and common areas.
• Help identify and correct hazardous community conditions and liabilities, and report hazards to the Community Manager and Service Manager.
• Help ensure established preventive maintenance programs are followed and documented according to BH program guidelines.
• Maintain and secure all property-issued tools.
• Post notices to vacate and other community communications, if applicable.
• Comply with OSHA and other safety requirements, as well as applicable federal, state, and local codes and internal maintenance policies, initiatives, and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
