About The Position

Astoria Senior Living, an Agemark Senior Living community in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Worker to maintain the community and help keep its building systems running smoothly. The role involves a variety of repairs, preventive maintenance, resident-apartment preparation, inspections, and other projects. The Maintenance Worker also works with residents, coworkers, contractors, and vendors, helping create a safe and welcoming environment. The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday, with occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance needs.

Requirements

• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general building systems.
• Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Dependability and pride in completing work well.
• Friendly, respectful interpersonal skills and an interest in helping others.
• Willingness to assist with occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance needs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous maintenance, handyman, building repair, or facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform everyday repairs, including leaky faucets, electrical issues, and general building maintenance.
• Assist with plumbing, HVAC, electrical, boilers, and other building systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to identify and address problems early.
• Handle a variety of projects, maintenance requests, and unexpected challenges.
• Prepare resident apartments so they are safe, comfortable, and welcoming.
• Help maintain a safe environment through inspections, repairs, and safety checks.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and fellow team members on larger projects.
• Build relationships with residents and contribute to their quality of life.
