About The Position

Astoria Senior Living, an Agemark Senior Living community in Omaha, Nebraska, is hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker. The role keeps the community’s facilities and resident apartments safe, comfortable, and in good working order. The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday. The position involves varied maintenance projects and requests, including troubleshooting repairs, assisting with building systems, preventative maintenance, preparing apartments for move-in, and coordinating with contractors, vendors, and team members. The worker also builds relationships with residents and helps support their quality of life.

Requirements

• Previous maintenance, handyman, building repair, or facilities experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general building systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
• Comfort switching between projects and learning new skills.
• Dependability, follow-through, and pride in work.
• Friendly and respectful people skills, and an interest in helping others.
• Willingness to assist with occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance needs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform everyday repairs, including leaky faucets, electrical issues, and general building maintenance.
• Assist with plumbing, HVAC, electrical, boiler, and other building systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to identify and address problems early.
• Handle varied projects, maintenance requests, and unexpected challenges.
• Prepare resident apartments for move-in so they are safe, comfortable, and welcoming.
• Help maintain a safe environment through inspections, repairs, and safety checks.
• Work with contractors, vendors, and fellow team members on larger projects.
• Build relationships with residents and take pride in improving their lives.
• Assist with occasional after-hours or emergency maintenance needs.
