About The Position

The Maintenance Worker performs routine maintenance on the building interior and exterior under limited supervision, along with related duties as assigned. The role supports the hotel’s operations by inspecting equipment and systems, assisting with mechanical-system maintenance, and operating fire and sprinkler systems as required. The employee is expected to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and other departments; respond promptly and courteously to guest requests; and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction. Work must comply with applicable fire, safety, and governmental requirements. This is a full-time position with hours and days that vary according to business needs, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnight shifts. The role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant engineering or maintenance experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a hotel environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to focus on guest needs and remain calm and courteous.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on the interior and exterior of the building.
• Inspect operating machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Assist with maintenance of mechanical systems, including pumps and fan coil units.
• Operate the fire pump and sprinkler system as required.
• Carry out work in compliance with fire and safety regulations and municipal, state, and federal guidelines.
• Work safely, recognize unsafe situations, take appropriate action to protect people in the building, and promptly report potential or actual hazards.
• Communicate effectively and genuinely with guests, employees, and other departments.
• Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly, caring, and professional manner, and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Report to work at the scheduled time, well-groomed and in the correct uniform.
• Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
