About The Position

AIR Communities is hiring an onsite Maintenance Technician for North Glen MacArthur, an apartment community in Irving, Texas. The technician provides customer service to residents and helps maintain apartments and community operations. Work includes preparing apartments for new residents, completing service requests and routine maintenance, and supporting other technicians as needed. Responsibilities may vary with the technician’s skillset, community needs, mechanical systems, and season. The expected hourly rate is $28–$30, based on skills and experience. Eligible technicians may earn monthly customer service satisfaction bonuses of up to $250 and may receive a 50% rent discount at an AIR Community. AIR provides maintenance technology, stocked and organized shops (with tools varying by community), supportive leadership, and the Ascend maintenance development program.

Requirements

At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a facilities or building environment.
Proficient skills in at least two technical trades, such as plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, or carpentry.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks depending on community needs and seasonality, and on-call shifts at least one week per month.
Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on call after hours.
Ability and willingness to move heavy equipment and machinery.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
Complete basic apartment turns according to AIR’s process to prepare apartments for new residents.
Complete resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance with general direction, including troubleshooting and repairing or replacing plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances.
May provide functional or technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support their technical skill development.
May assist with managing vendor quality.
May perform move-in and move-out inspections.
