About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an ongoing site assignment in Batesville, Mississippi. The role supports plant equipment and facility systems through installation, repair, maintenance, modification, testing, and troubleshooting. Hired candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. The position also involves maintaining records and preventive maintenance schedules, completing work orders in Maximo, and following company and client safety procedures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of electrical controls and power distribution.
- Knowledge of compressed air, central vacuum, and domestic water systems.
- Ability to safely access all areas of the property and buildings.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Ability to hear and respond adequately to voice commands, alerts, alarms, and other job-related noises.
- Ability to use all required personal protective equipment effectively.
- Ability to safely operate involved equipment and tools.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend consistently, work on ladders, and work in awkward body positions.
- Ability to meet the strenuous physical demands required to perform the essential job functions safely.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain, and modify plant equipment and structures in accordance with established trade codes.
- Monitor equipment operation and conduct tests to determine equipment efficiency, capability, and limitations.
- Diagnose equipment failures and take action to restore equipment to normal operation.
- Maintain accurate records for machinery and building facility systems.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, operating records, and breakdown histories.
- Guide, direct, and instruct lower-level maintenance personnel.
- Perform any task requested by GE that is reasonable and safe.
- Complete work orders in Maximo.
- Complete required safety and general job training.
- Follow SIC and client safety processes and procedures at all times.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
