Maintenance Technician - HVAC (GE BATES)
About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a Maintenance Technician specializing in HVAC for an ongoing site assignment in Batesville, Mississippi. The role maintains, performs preventive maintenance on, and repairs the facility’s HVAC systems, freezers, and chillers, and helps ensure environmental temperature and humidity conditions remain within established limits. Candidates must hold applicable state or federal licenses to work with restricted refrigerants. Benefits and paid time off may be considered after three months. The position also includes safety and general job training, compliance with company and client safety procedures, and mentoring other maintenance personnel.
Requirements
- Hold state or federal licensure required to work with restricted refrigerants.
- Be able to safely access all areas of the property and buildings.
- Be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Be able to hear and respond to voice commands, alerts, alarms, and other job-related noises.
- Be able to effectively use required personal protective equipment.
- Be able to safely operate the equipment and tools involved in the work.
- Be capable of standing for extended periods, bending consistently, working on ladders, and working in awkward body positions.
- Be able to meet the strenuous physical demands of the essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, perform preventive maintenance on, and repair facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Maintain, perform preventive maintenance on, and repair facility freezers.
- Perform HVAC preventive maintenance, including filter changes, cleaning, and lubrication.
- Maintain environmental conditions within established temperature and humidity limits in CCA’s.
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility chiller systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, freezers, chillers, heaters, and other facility equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and tools when required, and resolve discrepancies identified.
- Teach, mentor, and train other maintenance personnel on facility systems’ operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Complete required safety and general job training.
- Follow SIC and client safety processes and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
