About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an ongoing site assignment in Batesville, Mississippi. The role maintains and repairs facility HVAC systems, freezers, chillers, and heaters, and helps ensure that environmental conditions in CCA areas remain within established temperature and humidity limits. The technician also conducts safety inspections, resolves inspection discrepancies, follows company and client safety procedures, and keeps the work environment safe and organized. The position includes teaching, mentoring, and training other maintenance personnel on facility systems. Candidates hired for this ongoing assignment will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months.

Requirements

• State or federal licensing to work with restricted refrigerants.
• Ability to safely access all areas of the property and buildings.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Ability to hear and respond adequately to voice commands, alerts, alarms, and other job-related noises.
• Ability to effectively use required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to safely operate involved equipment and tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend consistently, and work on ladders and in awkward positions.
• Ability to meet the strenuous physical demands necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems.
• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility freezers.
• Hold the required state or federal license to work with restricted refrigerants.
• Conduct safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and tools as required, and resolve discrepancies found during inspections.
• Perform HVAC preventive maintenance, including filter changes, cleaning, and lubrication.
• Maintain environmental conditions in CCA areas within established temperature and humidity limits.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility chiller systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility HVAC systems, freezers, chillers, and heaters.
• Teach, mentor, and train other maintenance personnel on the operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems.
• Complete required safety and general job training.
• Follow SIC and client safety processes and procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
