About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors seeks a Maintenance Technician for an ongoing site assignment in Batesville, Mississippi. The technician installs, repairs, maintains, and modifies plant equipment and structures; monitors and diagnoses equipment performance; and helps restore equipment to normal operation. The role involves maintaining facility systems and records, following preventive maintenance schedules, completing work orders in Maximo, and observing safety procedures. Candidates may be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months.
Requirements
- Knowledge of electrical controls and power distribution.
- Knowledge of compressed air, central vacuum, and domestic water systems.
- Ability to safely access all areas of the property and buildings.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
- Ability to hear and respond adequately to voice commands, alerts, alarms, and other job-related noises.
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment effectively.
- Ability to safely operate the equipment and tools involved in the work.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend consistently, work on ladders, and work in awkward body positions.
- Ability to meet the strenuous physical demands of the position.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain, and modify plant equipment and structures according to established trade codes.
- Monitor equipment operation and conduct tests to determine equipment efficiency, capability, and limitations.
- Diagnose equipment failures and take action to return equipment to normal operation.
- Maintain accurate records of machinery and building facility systems.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, operations records, and breakdown history.
- Guide, direct, and instruct lower-level maintenance personnel.
- Perform tasks requested by GE that are reasonable and safe.
- Complete work orders in Maximo.
- Complete required safety and general job training.
- Follow SIC and client safety processes and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
