About The Position
The GI Endoscopy Technician (GE Technician) supports diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures within a Level I trauma center. The role assists physicians and nursing staff, prepares and maintains specialized equipment, and ensures procedural readiness. It is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining the functional integrity of endoscopic instruments, monitoring patient condition, and escalating clinical concerns as appropriate. The position operates in a high-acuity environment and follows infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a role such as anesthesia technician, nurse technician, support service aide, or a similar role.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
- Prepare and maintain specialized equipment and ensure procedural readiness.
- Clean and disinfect endoscopic instruments and maintain their functional integrity.
