Maintenance Technician, J Harbor Park at North Point
About The Position
Jefferson Apartment Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for J Harbor Park at North Point Apartments, a 190-unit apartment community in Reston, Virginia. The role's primary objective is to provide residents with superior care and customer service by responding to service needs with quality and timely work done right the first time. The technician performs preventative maintenance, supports the maintenance staff with service requests, assists with apartment make-readies and community cleanliness, and handles on-call duties when needed. The position requires the ability to meet the physical demands of the work, including moving around the property, climbing stairs, lifting appliances and tools, and bending, stretching, and kneeling.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General knowledge of maintenance tools and job tasks.
- Availability to be on call for emergencies on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including moving around the property, climbing stairs, lifting appliances and tools, stretching, bending, and kneeling; ability to hear occasional loud noises.
- Ability to lift 50–100 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Replace filters and clean air-conditioning vents in vacant and occupied apartments, along with other preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist maintenance staff with service requests.
- Handle on-call duties whenever needed.
- Replace breezeway and hallway light bulbs as needed.
- Assist with apartment make-readies.
- Assist with distributing flyers and other materials.
- Assist with janitorial responsibilities and maintain the overall cleanliness of the community.
