The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs hotel equipment and facilities, including kitchen, laundry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and guest rooms, while minimizing downtime. The role involves handling varied tasks inside and outside the hotel, repairing problems, and proactively identifying solutions with attention to detail. Typical work includes making repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment; installing and replacing light fixtures and bulbs; conducting scheduled inspections; and checking and repairing equipment malfunctions. The technician also ensures chemicals and hazardous materials are properly used and stored and that required reporting is completed accurately. Building security tasks include monitoring, activating, and resetting automatic security systems, repairing broken locks, and maintaining building keys. This is an active role requiring frequent movement, standing or sitting, walking, carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and twisting, climbing stairs, and positioning oneself to reach repair areas. The technician may occasionally climb a ladder to service lights or the roof and perform other repairs. Varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, must be accommodated. The employer offers excellent pay, hotel discounts, and the opportunity to join a growing hotel company.
