About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preserving the condition and functionality of affordable housing properties. The role involves working autonomously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and carrying out a broad range of maintenance, repair, inspection, and installation tasks. The posting lists the position as part-time and gives a starting pay of $18 per hour.

Requirements

Maintenance experience is preferred.
Detail-oriented.
Basic technology skills, including use of a smartphone and computer.
Organizational skills.
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift up to 90 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is a plus.
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.

Responsibilities

Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they meet health and safety standards.
Maintain and install systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels, and changing furnace filters; assist with system setup and conduct repairs as needed.
Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
Navigate smartphones and electronic work orders.
Inspect alarm systems, including fire and protection systems, and schedule repairs when needed.
Perform manual repairs, such as fixing locks and replacing windows.
Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, HVAC troubleshooting, janitorial work, inspections, landscaping, and snow removal.
