About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join the team at Northwood Apartments, a 182-unit affordable family housing community in Waterbury, Connecticut. The role performs maintenance functions throughout rental units, residential common areas, the office, grounds, and parking lots. The pay range is $24.41–$26.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with on-call duty one week every six weeks.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Current vehicle license in good standing and compliance with the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy driving-record standards.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair items and systems including appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and ensure they are market-ready according to company standards.
• Perform maintenance service orders associated with preventive maintenance programs, building and safety inspections, and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Participate in scheduled on-call coverage for off-hours activity and emergencies.
