About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work at Crescent Gardens, a 100-unit multifamily affordable-housing community in Wilson, North Carolina. The role involves general apartment maintenance and repair throughout rental units, residential common areas, offices, grounds, and parking lots. The technician assists with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and painting repairs and helps maintain a well-kept community for residents.

The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for up to 30 hours per week. On-call duty is required for one week every other week, including off-hours and emergencies. The pay range is $19.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for off-hours on-call activity for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training.
• CAMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical systems, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and ensure they are market-ready according to company standards.
• Perform service orders associated with preventive maintenance, building and safety inspections, and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for scheduled on-call work during off-hours and emergencies.
