About The Position

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general apartment maintenance and repairs throughout Crescent Gardens, a 100-unit affordable multifamily housing community in Wilson, North Carolina. The work includes rental units, residential common areas, offices, grounds, and parking lots. The technician assists with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, carpentry, and painting repairs to help maintain the community for residents.

This is a part-time position of up to 30 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role also requires on-call duty for one week every other week, including off-hours and emergencies. The pay range is $19.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for off-hours on-call activity for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training.
• CAMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and make repairs to appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC systems.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating procedures.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy and ensure they are market-ready in accordance with company standards.
• Perform maintenance service orders related to preventive maintenance, building and safety inspections, and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for off-hours on-call activity and emergencies according to a predetermined schedule and community needs.
