Requirements

  • Basic electrical/mechanical knowledge required.
  • Must be familiar with electrical schematics.
  • Working fundamentals of troubleshooting PLC’s.
  • Basic boiler safety knowledge.
  • Basic welding, sanitary tig, Stick and Mig welding.
  • Basic plumbing and HVAC knowledge.
  • Understanding of basic lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  • Requires a good understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
  • Requires judgment to make decisions regarding sequence of maintenance operations to be performed within the limits of standard practice.
  • Ability to work in somewhat disagreeable conditions, dust, noise, fumes and vibrations.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D required.
  • A minimum of three or more year’s industrial equipment experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of advanced mechanical maintenance service to support the plant facility.
  • Taking a proactive approach to prevent repairs, and will install, replace and troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems with minimum supervision.
  • Using hand tools and testing instruments.
  • Dismantling machinery and replacing defective electrical or mechanical parts.
  • Performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Inspecting completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems.
  • Fabricating and assembling equipment which may entail welding, cutting and pipe fitting.
  • Performing emergency repairs on process equipment.
  • Inspecting facility equipment on a daily basis performing various production startup and coverage tasks.
  • Troubleshooting any repairs PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components.
  • Using prints, specifications, following verbal instructions to make repairs to ordinary plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Installing and threading pipe, performing soldering and cutting.
  • Assisting in the installation of equipment.
  • Cleaning and lubricating parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Following all food safety principles pertinent to your position as specified by the Quality Practitioner.
  • Reporting all food safety and human safety concerns to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, Ops Manager, etc.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
