About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I performs routine maintenance tasks to help keep equipment and facilities operational, safe, and efficient. This entry-level role supports the maintenance team by assisting with repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior technicians or the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Familiarity with basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior technicians.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
Capability to work in outdoor, noisy, or confined spaces.
Frequent standing, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field.
Basic certification in maintenance-related skills, such as HVAC, welding, or electrical work.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, machinery, and building systems as instructed.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and report findings to senior team members.
Assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing minor repairs.
Replace or repair basic components such as belts, filters, faucets, and door handles.
Maintain and organize tools, parts, and maintenance equipment in designated areas.
Document completed work, including parts used and time spent, in the maintenance log or system.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Support preventive maintenance programs by following schedules and completing assigned tasks.
Communicate promptly and accurately with team members and supervisors about ongoing tasks and issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or management.
