Maintenance Mechanic - Hides/Tannery
About The Position
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. General mechanic duties may involve working in any department of the beef processing facility. Employees enter work orders into a computer-based system daily and read equipment manuals as needed to complete assigned work. Maintenance crews typically work 4–5 days followed by 2–3 days off. Shifts may include Sundays and some major holidays. Candidates must be willing and able to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. A qualifying candidate must take a tour before accepting a job offer. Former Tyson employees are subject to a 180-day waiting period for rehire and may be rehired no more than three times.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of mechanic work experience listed in the application work history, or graduation from an industrial maintenance training program.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability and willingness to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must take a tour before accepting a job offer.
Nice To Haves
- Welding experience is preferred.
