About The Position

The Maintenance Helper supports the hotel’s maintenance team in maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds. The position assists with preventive maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, work orders, and upkeep of maintenance areas to help provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and employees. Duties may include indoor and exterior property maintenance as needed.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of hand tools and maintenance practices.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when assigned tasks.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous maintenance, construction, or facilities experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist maintenance technicians with repairs and maintenance projects.
Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC support tasks.
Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
Replace light bulbs, air filters, batteries, and other basic building components.
Help maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
Support efforts to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of maintenance areas.
Assist with repairs to furniture, fixtures, doors, locks, and windows.
Help with landscaping, snow removal, and exterior property maintenance as needed.
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies for hotel operations and events.
Follow hotel safety standards and maintenance procedures.
Identify and report potential safety hazards.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
Assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
